PROJECT DESCRIPTION
EAE was subcontracted by Black & Veatch to act as the Architect-of-Record to provide professional architectural design services and construction administration services for the Blue River WWTP Biosolids Facility project. The project was a design build project with Goodwin Brothers being the General Contractor, Black & Veatch were the prime engineers and EAE as the Architect-of-Record. The goal of the project was to design improvements to the solids management processes to meet the anticipated solids capacity, reliability, and regulatory requirements through 2035. The Blue River WWTP is Kansas City’s largest wastewater treatment plant. It treats approximately 75 million gallons of wastewater per day and processes and cleans approximately 98 percent of the solid waste materials for Kansas City, Missouri.
