2022 Existing Small Business of the Year
The Kansas Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is one of eight regional centers that work in partnership with Small Business Administration (SBA) to provide consulting for both new and existing small businesses. EAE has been working with SBDC since the summer of 2018. In 2022 EAE was awarded the SBDC Kansas Existing Small Business of the Year. Criteria for the award included historical growth, employee retention, marketing/business development and projected growth.

Northeast Industrial District Bar Screen Project
EAE’s role on this project was as the Architect-of-Record in the design of the roofing systems for both the Screen Building and the connected Pump Station as well as replacing the bar screens in the Screen Building.
The Screen Building had 1,184 square feet of roof and the Pump Station had 1,162 square feet of roof. Also included was the incorporation of several skylights on the Screen Building roof and a fixed exterior FRP ladder was installed on the exterior of each building.
The original roofing system was removed and replaced with an Atactic Polypropylene (APP) Modified Bituminous Membrane roofing system. The APP system included a white granulated cap sheet over the base sheet over an adhered cover board over tapered roof insulation and flat roof insulation.

On June 29, 2003, EAE's President, Jill Biesma, was one of 25 honorees in The Kansas City Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business program. The annual program recognizes area businesswomen for their business achievements and public involvement. Honorees are chosen by a panel of judges, including women recognized as part of the program in previous years. This year’s pool consisted of more than 300 nominees. The businesswomen selected participate in a roundtable program and are recognized at an annual luncheon.
